Neuter/Spay
(Castration/Ovariohysterectomy)
In order to help control the birth of unwanted and potentially neglected pets, we perform spays and neuters (ovariohysterectomy and castration) for a minimal fee to cover the basic costs of the procedure. We perform this surgery after 5 months of age for dogs, cats and exotic animals.
Neutering or spaying your pet is beneficial in several ways:
- Prevention of heat cycles and unwanted pregnancies.
- Prevention of undesirable behavior such as urine marking, roaming, fighting and aggression.
- Prevention of diseases such as mammary cancer, uterine infection and prostatic disease.

Included Services
The procedure includes a physical examination, general anesthesia, nail trim, and ear cleaning. An Elizabethan collar is put on your pet post surgery to prevent disruption of the sutures, which are absorbable, so there is no need for overnight hospitalization. We are only a phone call away should the need arise, after your pet is discharged.
Additional Services
Additional services such as EKG, microchipping, and pre-surgical bloodwork are available which will be explained to you upon your pet’s admission. For more information on the benefits of having your pet microchipped, please visit Home Again Pet Recovery.
