Veterinarian Position

Culvers LakeType of Position Available: Motivated, personable associate needed for our expanding AAHA certified hospital. 100% SMALL ANIMAL primarily canine and feline OR 10%  EQUINE OPTION including mainly pleasure horses, alpacas and small ruminants.  We hope to find an associate who shares our philosophy, loves veterinary medicine, and can be an asset to our progressive practice environment. We are a modern, computerized, and well organized health care team that achieves exceptional communication, clinical, and surgical skills. We are willing to share our experience with a qualified veterinarian with our common vision. We emphasize dedication and caring for our gracious clientele and their special animal companions. We do not offer boarding so that we may concentrate on our medical and surgical skills and maintain the cleanliness and quality care our inpatients require.

Qualifications Required: DVM or equivalent. New graduates are considered. Our practice will provide a valuable learning experience to a new graduate and enable that person to improve their skills and to successfully compete among the best qualified veterinarians in practice. New Jersey State Boards allow a temporary license until final test scoring. Clinical Competency and National Boards are required to sit for the New Jersey exam. The exam is written, without a verbal or clinical hands on requirement. It is offered in early spring and late fall.

Stokes Forest New JerseyLocation: Scenic Northwestern Sussex County, New Jersey. The rural setting is close to the Pocono Mountain ski region yet one hour from metropolitan New York. Sussex County was named after the Sussex region of England because it has rolling hills and farm country similar to that of the Yorkshire region in the James Herriot novels. We are close to the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which contains 45,000 acres of unspoiled natural beauty allowing such activities as canoeing the Delaware, camping, mountain biking and other outdoor adventures. We are a "bedroom" community for New Jersey’s metropolitan area where "mini-farms" are abundant and major industry is prevented due to strict zoning ordinances.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience, and new graduates are considered. Our associates will be exposed to the most modern facility with two technicians on call at any one time and the most up to date equipment including a full laboratory, 300 ma x-ray with automatic processor, endoscopy, and access to an ultrasound specialty. Emergency duty will be shared among the three doctors and emergency fees paid above and beyond the salary. Experienced veterinarians will be paid on a percentage of the gross cost with a guaranteed salary base. Housing is affordable and the community offers excellent schools.

Benefits: Health insurance, liability insurance, license, continuing education, and subscription and dues. A retirement plan is available with matching contributions paid by the employer.

Special Equipment: Full laboratory, radiology, and endoscopy services are available. Sevo anesthesia in two surgery bays is available. Ultrasonagraphy is a discipline that the hospital believes in greatly and is used in conjunction with our clinical diagnosis. All surgery, including orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, is considered in each individual case.

Comments: If you are interested in this type of small animal practice, please fax, send, or e-mail your resume and hopefully we can spend a day together in clinical practice. Buy-in is possible in this established practice, to the right individual. We will be glad to send you our 8 page brochure explaining our dedicated lay staff, veterinarians, and modern AAHA facility. A motivated, personable staff, allows us, as doctors of veterinary medicine, to be efficient at attaining our goals as a veterinary health care team. The hours at our hospital are reasonable and efficient using flex scheduling, thus allowing us to live in a less stressful atmosphere so that we are energized to do quality medicine and yet have a happy and fulfilling career and personal life.
